JoAnn Pietro, RN, ESQ.
JoAnn Pietro RN, ESQ, is a solo practitioner in her own law firm located in Springfield, New Jersey. Ms. Pietro’s concentration of practice is in representing health care professionals in licensure actions before professional boards, in employment, health care regulatory, health care law and general business matters, and does guardianship law. For many years she did defense malpractice cases representing nurses, doctors, dentists and other health care providers who had been sued for malpractice. She holds a diploma in Nursing from Holy Name School of Nursing, Teaneck, New Jersey, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Labor Studies from Rutgers University, Newark, New Jersey, and a Juris Doctor degree from the City University of New York Law School at Queens College. Ms. Pietro has taught as an adjunct professor at Felician College, Teachers College at Columbia University and Bloomfield College. She has taught masters and doctoral students and lectured and written extensively on nursing legal issues. Ms. Pietro is a member of the American Association of Nurse Attorneys, the New Jersey State Nurses Association, and the New Jersey Bar Association. In 2007 she served as a Commissioner on the New Jersey Governor Corzine’s Commission on Rationalizing Health Care Resources. In 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 Ms. Pietro was selected as a New Jersey Super Lawyer in the area of Health Care Law.

As Co-Chair of his firm’s Healthcare Law Group, and with a Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Law Compliance, Dennis is their lead attorney for representing clients in the healthcare industry. Dennis has over two decades of experience in representing various types of healthcare and related companies, as well as individual professionals, including management and billing service providers, third party administrators, industry trade associations, group purchasing organizations, surgical and imaging centers, laboratories and all other types of licensed healthcare facilities, medical groups, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
Labor & Employment
Dennis also counsels healthcare entities and professionals in all aspects of employment law compliance, and defends them in all employment related litigation in all federal and state courts and in arbitration.
With a Master of Law degree in employment law, and as Co-Chairman of the firm’s Employment Law Group, Dennis J. Alessi has spent over thirty-five years representing employers in all aspects of employment law and human resource management; specifically assisting employers in developing and implementing comprehensive personnel management programs, including employee manuals, and all personnel policies and forms; conducting educational seminars for managers on all aspects of personnel management; otherwise ensuring employer compliance with all employment-related laws; and counseling employers on managing individual personnel problems to avoid lawsuits. When litigation is brought by employees, Dennis has defended employers before the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and all other federal and state employment regulatory agencies. Dennis has also defended employers in hundreds of employment discrimination/harassment, wrongful termination, and “whistleblower” cases in all federal and state courts in New Jersey and New York, in administrative law hearings and arbitrations.
Dennis also has decades of expertise in traditional labor law, including conducting union avoidance campaigns, negotiating collective bargaining agreements, grievance processing and arbitrations, wage and hour audits and litigation, and all forms of proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), federal and state Departments of Labor.
